FAC-1 AND BIM FOR SCHOOL BUILDINGS
The “Adda Martesana” Lombardian Union of Municipalities has implemented the Framework Alliance Contract (FAC-1) within the context of the construction project for the secondary school in the Municipality of Liscate. The project, which has been drafted using BIM methodology, is highly complex and has been overseen, from a technical standpoint, by the Politecnico di Milano.
It is one of the first experimental applications in Italy of the Framework Alliance Contract, which has been drafted by the University of Milan in partnership with King’s College London (for further information, please refer to the section “Collaborative Contracts” and the website www.unimi.it/enti_imprese/fac-1.htm).
The FAC-1 has been used in order to make the application of BIM more efficient, by implementing a collaboration between the clients, the Politecnico di Milano, the construction company and the chain of subcontractors.
