The Lab is aimed at the implementation of the BIM methodology in the phases of the building process, with particular reference to the planning and tendering phases, designing both the engineering and architectural services and the construction works. Lab research activity focuses on the definition of BIM Guidelines, on the verification and validation systems of digital models, and on the digitisation of control and testing processes in construction works and during the whole lifecycle of buildings.
Definition of BMS (Building Management Systems) based on monitoring through sensors and Post Occupancy Evaluation scenarios.
Testing of BIM models and information content
Testing the quality of BIM models and the compliance of the documents prepared.
Information modelling of publicly owned buildings
BIM modelling for newly constructed buildings, renovations and existing buildings, with the aim of managing public assets.
Support for procuring entities in drafting documentation for tenders using BIM methodology
Technical and scientific support in developing an economically advantageous offer with BIM methodology and assistance in the publication and evaluation phases of the tender. Support in drafting tender documents, technical specifications and BIM execution plans. Implementation of the collaborative contractual forms to optimise the relationships between the parties.
BIM property guidelines for procuring entities and property managers
Support for the Common Data Environment (CDE) of contracts in defining the rules for the construction of Collaborative Digital Platforms for procuring entities and property managers. Drafting of guidelines for modelling with BIM methodology for the design of new buildings using BIM methodology and the management of maintenance contracts and facility management services.
